Till now we all have seen the festival of sculptures from snow and ice in the Chinese city of Harbin. Now its the Japanese island’s turn for a snow fest, which are considered some of the brightest cultural and entertaining events in winter Japan. Its in Sapporo city, located in the the Japanese Island of Hokkaido.The 60th snow festival Of Sapporo, 2009, had enormous snow sculptures, which reach 15 meters in the height and 25 meters into the width. Sculptors from all around the world contributed to these amazing complex snow sculptures.

In all for the festival required 6500 five-ton trucks of snow. Warm weather prevented the construction of compositions – some figures in the process of building literally got eroded by warm rains.
