I remember seeing an automotive industry adviser on Wall Street Week who said, “The entire automotive industry is a cash funnel to the machine tool industry”.

The information featured on this page was originally published in CAR magazine in December 2005. While the document accurately represents the complex ownership and partnership arrangements of the worlds major auto makers, it is no longer completely accurate.

great post! I love my Daimler Chrysler vehicle. Much better than the Ford and GM’s I’ve owned in the past (and feels like a much higher quality interior than our Toyota). I really hope that the acquisition of my line stays in the family for a long time!
